Opal ring October birthstone

Named “Opalus” by the Romans this birthstone was a symbol of love and hope. The Opal has been associated with supernatural powers by many cultures in the past. Arabic legends state that the stone falls from the heavens during a storm. The Greeks believed that it prevented disease and Europeans see it as a symbol of hope, purity and truth.

The Opal has been regarded as the most magical gem as it can show all  colours. It was also thought to preserve the life and colour of blond hair.
